White Strand Beach
White Strand Renvyle is one of Connemara’s most captivating coastal gems, a pristine stretch of white sand set along the rugged edge of the Atlantic on the Renvyle Peninsula. Framed by aquamarine waters and the dramatic silhouettes of the Twelve Bens and Mweelrea mountains, the beach offers a striking contrast of colour and texture that feels both wild and serene.
Often referred to locally as Renvyle Beach, this north-facing strand extends for roughly 700 metres, opening out to uninterrupted ocean views with no offshore islands to break the horizon. Its soft, pale sands and crystal-clear waters make it ideal for peaceful walks, quiet swims, and moments of stillness, while its exposed location gives it a raw, ever-changing character shaped by wind, tide, and light.
The beach is also steeped in subtle history and ecology, with traces of ancient landscapes hidden within the surrounding machair and dunes. Combined with its sweeping views across Galway and Mayo’s mountains and islands, it has long inspired artists, walkers, and nature lovers alike.
Whether bathed in golden sunset light or wrapped in Atlantic mist, White Strand in Renvyle is a place where the wild beauty of Ireland feels both timeless and deeply personal.

Kylemore Abbey
Nestled at the foot of the rugged Connemara mountains and reflected in the still waters of Pollacappul Lough, Kylemore Abbey is one of Ireland’s most iconic and romantic landmarks. Originally built in 1867 as a private castle, its story is one of love, loss, and transformation.
Today, the abbey is home to a community of Benedictine nuns who have carefully preserved its heritage while opening its doors to visitors from around the world. The estate features beautifully restored Victorian walled gardens, peaceful woodland walks, and the striking Gothic Church, all set within a landscape of extraordinary natural beauty.
Rich in history and surrounded by the wild charm of Connemara, Kylemore Abbey offers a unique blend of culture, tranquillity, and timeless elegance.

Diamond Hill
Rising above the rugged landscape of Connemara National Park, Diamond Hill offers one of the most rewarding walks in the west of Ireland. Its well-maintained trails lead through blanket bog and heathland to a summit with breathtaking panoramic views.
From the top, sweeping vistas stretch across the Atlantic coastline, offshore islands, and the Twelve Bens mountains, capturing the raw beauty of Connemara in every direction. Accessible yet dramatic, Diamond Hill is a must-visit for walkers seeking both adventure and unforgettable scenery.
